Batman is apprehensive as he takes an over-eager inexperienced Robin out on patrol. They encounter Two-Face, who warns them about a new threat that is coming to Gotham.

Batman's team investigates the accident at Victor Fries' lab, but their inexperience catches Gordon's attention.

Flashbacks reveal how Batman developed his arsenal of tools and weapons and established the Batcave.
